Swiss National Day
To keep our photographic juices flowing we like to see new things, visit new places and get inspired. So last week we headed off to Geneva for a weekend of chilling and some photography thrown in.
Imagine our surprise to find out we’d turned up on Swiss National Day. A recognised holiday celebrating the birth of Switzerland which meant processions, flags and fireworks!
We were travelling lightweight carry-on so didn’t have our full kit. But hey it’s sometimes better to challenge yourself with limited equipment and think about the shots and the framing.
You can still get great results with your compact camera or phone. Sometimes it’s easier to get up close and personal.
We had a great time absorbing the local culture and pride felt in the Swiss Flag but also had some great chats (in mediocre French) to some really interesting Uber drivers from as far afield as Sierra Leone.
Plus we picked up a CityShooters associate, it’s great when we connect with local photographers who know the location. Don’t forget, we’ll be publishing our future itinerary soon, reach out if you’re resident in one of our upcoming locations.
A small selection of our shots are below, as usual we limit ourselves to a maximum “Dirty Dozen” from each shoot. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram to see our live updates and video commentary.
